VITAMIN D A MUST!

In Minnesota, it is an ABSOLUTE MUST! to consume Vitamin D3 and in large quantities. All ages too. We recommend about 10,000IU/day for optimal health. In the summer, you can cut down but only if you are getting out in the sun for about 15-20 minutes.

INTERMITENT FASTING

What fasting? In the realm of resting and healing there are techniques that can be practiced that date even back to biblical times] to help the body to "reboot" persay. Intermitent Fasting involves fasting [not eating] for certain periods of time in order to allow for the body to take a pause, get a break and heal. CLEANSING With BONE BROTH

Cleansing and detoxing is a topic we get asked a lot about in the clinic. When asked on the benefits...we say yes, yes and more yes. Classically, one should cleanse of some sort every season. In Minnesota, that is 4 times a year. There are so many cleanses and fasts out there and they are all effective. However, it is nice to have a professional hold your hand and to suggest cleanses that may be more effective towards going after some of the issues you may have at hand.  If you are ever interested and curious as to doing a cleanse we have 2 cleanses that we usually suggeste for our novice patients. PROBIOTICS & YOUR FRIENDLY FLORA

Your gut flora is so critical to your overall health and wellness. We are practically more bacteria then we are cells. If you've ever taken antibiotics, drink tap water, eaten sugar, drank coffee, eat wheat and just overall have not added cultured foods into your diet you are already devoid of a flora that will keep you healthy. We need about 6lbs of good bacteria, most of us have 2lbs. 

 

Good sources of friendly bacteria: probiotic supplements that come in billions of population and in many strains (they have a lot of latin names like bifidus, acidophilus, etc.}. Keifer (yogurt like drink), most raw cheeses, sourkraut, Kombucha teas, canning your own veggetables can be a good source of friendly bacteria, pickles, and yogurt. 

 

Keep in mind you want to diversify your probiotic supplements...when your done with one brand move onto another brand. Certain strains of friendly flora may or may not populate in your gut as well and changing up the brands and strains will make all the difference.

ANTIOXIDANTS AND SLOWING THE AGING PROCESS

Antioxidants are a popular topic and sometimes hard to understand. However, most of us know that we need to be consistently consuming foods that are high in antioxidants if we want to benefit from overall great health and to slow down the aging process. At Revolution we really enjoy the antioxidant drink from Young Living called Ninxgia Red. The Ninxgia Wolfberries come from a providance in China where the locals who consume those berries on a regular basis live to be on average 120 years old. Ninxgia Red has the highest Antioxidant potential on the market and it actually does taste good to drink. We give it to our children as a treat.

GOOD FATS KEEP YOU SKINNY

Belive it or not but we want you to eat fat and in large amounts. What's that? It's totally opposite from the lowfat/nofat trends that have been popular in the past.
